TWO FAMILIES WORKING CLOSELY TOGETHER IN PEARL JEWELRY

Pearl Jewelry store owners, Pearl Distributors, started as a small family business that has developed into an international success story. Warren Garten founder and President in 2004 gave up a 6 figure job as a real estate manager and started Living The Dream by working full time with his 23 year old TWIN SONS Adam and Robert. A dream come true for him. Andrew and Miriam Reed and their son, Nathan now work along with them.

They are both very family-oriented and enjoy the opportunity to work together as families in the pearl jewelry business.

Warren

Warren took the "leap of faith" into this business and has never looked back. His growing passion for the Luxurious Pearl Gem Business is evident in everything he does. With the extensive travel and the continued relentless effort in developing relationships at the grass roots pearl farming level.

He is a born adventurer and has traveled extensively to many parts of the world. This inherent need for travel stems from the fact that his Mother was a War Bride from the Second World War. So Warren started traveling back and forth to Europe at a very young age with his Mother and Father.

Warren’s lust for the "back hinterland" parts of the world likely originated from his years associated with the Boy Scouts which culminated with his last position as a Vice President.

Adam

Warren’s son Adam is a University Computing Science Graduate with a keen eye for the pearl business and the backbone behind our technical support. He has a lust for Travel and continues to look for adventure at every step. The pearl business is the perfect impetus for his compulsion.

In his off hours Adam has a passion for sports (baseball and ice hockey) and new technologies (in all shapes and forms) which he is constantly experimenting with. You can imagine that his power bill is out of sight!

Robert

Warren’s son Robert, a University Commerce Graduate, provides fresh insight into the marketing and financial input to the company. He is a knowledgeable part of our family team and has an unstoppable desire to be the very best that he can be. His outgoing, dedicated nature is perfect for a rewarding business such as fine pearl jewelry.

Robert has a huge passion for the financial market and travel (comes by it honestly). Of course travel fits very well with this business... Can you guess who will take over the purchasing? He can be seen driving off into the mountains with his girlfriend at every available time. He also is a huge exercise buff and loves sports!

Andrew, Miriam and Nathan

Andrew and Miriam were both educators for many years. Andrew was born in England and married Canadian born Miriam in 1978. He is very gregarious, loves people and travel.

Miriam is from a large family and shares his love of people. They developed a thriving language institute in the Caribbean with a 12 year reputation for excellence in quality and trustworthiness.

All three have had an interest in pearls and pearl culture. Early this year they joined hands with the Garten family in the administration of Pearl Distributors. Miriam admits she’s got the "pearl fever." "The more you learn about pearls the more fascinated you become with them." Andrew and Nathan are pearl advisors and enjoy answering questions about pearls.

Nathan’s interests are astrophysics, archaeology, aerospace design, biomimetics, cosmology, wilderness survival, and just about anything else. Oh... and jewelry design! He, along with his parents, enjoys doing voluntary work with the deaf and hiking in the mountains. All three have traveled extensively.

Both families share the passion for the business of delivering the finest in Pearl Jewelry from our group’s manufacturing and distribution base in Santa Monica, California and delivered directly to your door. From our Families to Yours!

Extended Family

Our team also consists of Design Technicians, Customer Service Representitives, a Shipper and a Photographer. Our devoted team of professionals drive the organization and strive for excellence in Customer Satisfaction. This team is supplemented by seasonal help during the peak holiday times of Christmas, Valentines Day and Mother’s Day.

Warren and his sons had talked about starting a business together for years. It was a family tradition - Warren’s father and father-in-law had been entrepreneurs.

With the strong background by Adam in Computers and Robert in Marketing coupled with Warren’s strong financial savvy, the family wanted to start a business over the internet that made some financial sense. Warren starting investigating the Jewelry business and began slowly importing Gems including Pearls from Asia in order to test the market. Well it didn’t take long for Warren and the Boys to start talking about opening an online store specializing in Pearls only and beginning with Akoya pearl necklaces and earrings. First buying them ready made and selling them complete to the consumer.

After establishing contacts in China the business evolved to purchasing without any middlemen and selling without any large overheads. Warren shares his enthusiasm "This is a tremendous opportunity to go to Asia, buy direct and sell direct. Can we make a profit? The answer is YES! Pearls in Asia

Over time and with several visits to South East Asia, Warren began to seek out the very best in quality and price. As a distributor of pearl jewelry they could have just bought from "Traders" in Hong Kong (the pearl capital of the World) however Warren decided to look go further and connect with the suppliers to these Traders... the pearl processers and Farmers which would provide more opportunity and superior selection of the available pearl harvest.

This entailed several meetings to build relationships and trust with these Asian partners to source only the very best of Pearls for his Jewelry. Now his group has exclusive options on the finest Pearls coming from several Pearl Processors who harvest pearls from their many pearl farms. They purchase 100% of their supplier’s AAA pearls which is the top Percentage of the harvest. What an incredible breakthrough. These are the best in Akoya Pearls!
