After the pearls are harvested, cleaning and polishing techniques are being used including soaking specific pearls in chemical solutions and ultra violet light as per the freshwater methods of harvesting. These are becoming more apparent as well as more important. Technology is a large part of pearl farming, and harvesting. And it will become more and more important in the years to come.
