Perils of Pearl Farming

Pearl farming is extremely difficult at best. This profession is no different than a dirt farmer who counts on a multitude of ingredients for a good crop. Therefore, there are many different aspects that a good pearl farmer has to look out for. Simple things as storms can be a danger to the pearls, and so the cages are lowered in the water to avoid damage. Of course, just like dirt farmers, pollution is also a continuing concern. The danger of water pollution can single handedly destroy an entire crop of pearls. Pearl farmers are very careful to keep their water clean and pure for their pearl producing oysters. Therefore the Pearl farmer must worry about such things as Red Tide, Pollution, Storms, Water Temperature and Disease. A good pearl harvest is certainly a Thanksgiving which is a well earned celebration indeed.
